Boodles is a British family owned and operated jewellery company founded in 1798. Founded as Boodle and Dunthorne when its first shop opened in Liverpool. In 1910 it amalgamated with the Wainwright family, owners of another jewellers in Liverpool and the business has remained with the family ever since.
Throughout the 20th century Boodle and Dunthorne expanded from Liverpool by opening county jewellery stores in the northeast of England and became a leading jewellery retailer with an increasing focus on bespoke and in-house designs. By the turn of the 21st century and now with 5th & 6th generation family members, they shortened their name to a more modern sounding Boodles and began concentrating on their own collection of fine jewellery and bespoke designs.
Boodles have succeeded in transitioning the family business through 5 generations and evolved from a successful county jewellery retailer to a global jewellery brand, which now puts them on the world stage with some of the greatest jewellery houses.
Boodles currently has 9 stores – Liverpool, Chester, Manchester, Dublin and 5 in London – Bond street, Harrods, The Savoy, Royal Exchange & Sloane Street.
